Fall Dive Cancelation
I regret to have to say that we have had to cancel the Fall Dive
Conference for this year. Our registration numbers are very low and
along with other concerns of presenters and class instructors we cannot
put the conference together. We are hoping to bring together
suggestions and ideas to provide a better and more informative
conference for September 2012 and hope that your interest will continue
to be supportive at that time. We will be looking for your
suggestions/comments for discussion at the September 11th meeting at the
Baldwinsville FD Station 1 at corner of Downer & Crego.

Founding Member Richard C. "Dick" Brown Passes
July 7, 2011 Richard C. "Dick" Brown, 84, of Otisco,
went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 7, at Cortland Care Center.
He was a carpenter for Dawson Bros. and John Dougherty Construction
companies and retired from Syracuse Supply in Engineered Products,
Robotics and Conveyor Systems. Dick was a Navy veteran of WWII, having
served in the South Pacific. Following his retirement, he attended
Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC, and was pastor of Vesper United
Methodist Church for over 13 years. He was a charter member of the
Otisco Fire Dept. and a former member of NYS Divers Assoc. He was a
member of the Onondaga County Underwater Recovery Team and especially
enjoyed sport diving. He was a ...

May Meeting Dive
Last month we took out the underwater video camera to get some practice in deploying it. After some minor technical difficulties getting the camera in service we were able to take it into the lake with three divers. We discussed some of the difficulties and limitations of our current setup and how we might rectify this. We will soon be implementing a solution to be able to record the video feed.
